April to June: From Culture to Comfort
As the weather becomes hotter and more humid, the city continues to celebrate. April welcomes the Tamil New Year with temple processions, rituals and traditional feasts. In May and June, Chennai continues its classical theme with South Indian music and dance workshops.

Janmashtami, the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birthday, which is observed across the region with great devotion.
In September, the city comes alive with colourful processions for
Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesh’s birthday. Guests at Trident, Chennai can take the short drive to Marina Beach to witness the dramatic finale of these celebrations, as towering idols of the elephant god are carried and immersed in the sea.
